Sponsored by the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Planners Roundtable and Kansas City American Planning Association (KCAPA).
The decennial census provides critical data that states, counties, and cities use to provide daily services, support, and funding for communities. In mid-March, homes across the country will begin receiving invitations to complete the 2020 census. Alan Organ, MD, PhD (U.S. Census Bureau) and Dean Katerndahl, PhD (MARC) will discuss the history of the census, the census process and new data collection strategies, challenges to ensuring an accurate count, and the importance and impact of the census. Learn how the census affects local planners and local efforts to ensure a complete count in the Kansas City region.
