Did you know that APA sponsors Community Planning Assistance Teams to provide volunteer technical assistance to communities in need? Last year, Chris Chiodini, AICP, EIT (Community Development Director, City of Grandview) spent a week in the U.S. Virgin Islands as a member of a multidisciplinary team to address chronic issues resulting from two Category 5 hurricanes (Irma, Maria). Chris will share his experience working with the team to create a vision for a renewed, healthy, and resilient neighborhood near Schneider Regional Medical Center on St. Thomas. Join us to hear his unique story of community empowerment and ways that you may be able to volunteer on a future Community Planning Assistance Team initiative! 1.5 CM credits pending.
