Join the Kansas Chapter of the American Planning Association in Leavenworth County on Friday April 21st for the 2017 Spring Symposium! This year we will focus on agritourism businesses, the opportunities they create for local economies, and the challenges that can arise for planning departments when they become popular destinations. We will tour three locations that represent common agritourism activities, and programming will include a discussion of the subject including the perspectives of both business operators and local officials.


9:00 am       Meet/Park at Holy Field Winery

9:15 am       Depart on bus for Schwinn’s Produce Farm:
                        You-pick-it produce and special event barn

10:00 am    Tour Schwinn’s Produce Farm

10:30 am    Program/Panel Discussion

12:00 pm    Lunch at Schwinn’s Produce Farm

1:30 pm      Tour of Lamborn Farm: Special event barn on
                        the National Register of Historic Places, pumpkin
                        patch, and farmer’s market
2:45 pm      Holy-Field Winery tour & tasting (The tasting fee
                        is $7 per person, but the fee is waived with the
                        purchase or wine. Must be 21 years of age)
