Join the KCAPA Section as we hear about how the City of Independence, MO has bounced back since the Not-so-Great Recession. Attendees will be updated on the most recent commercial development in Independence since the financial collapse including retail, dining/entertainment and tourism. Specifically, the impact of the Silverstein Eye Clinic Events Center will be addressed as a stimulus for other development within the area and tourism in general. Additionally, staff from the Independence Power & Light Department will provide an update on the completion of the first Platinum LEED building in the region as well the solar community farm in eastern Independence.
This event has been approved for 1.5 CM Credits.
Box lunches will be provided, cost is $15.
