The intersection of 33rd Street and Troost will be temporarly reimagined on Saturday, October 14th as part of Better Block KC's effort to show the potential for walkable, bike-friendly neighborhoods. Better Block KC will demonstrate parking-protected bike lanes, floating bus stops and colorful crosswalks.
Better Block KC is volunteer-based, tactical urban design group that helps Kansas City visualize the potential for vibrant neighborhoods through donated materials and community collaboration. Its temporary installations give community members the opportunity to make their public spaces the best
representation of their history, culture and future.
All community members are invited to attend the event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to experience a complete streetscape and provide feedback to community and city leaders.
Bike-related events are scheduled throughout the day, including bike repair from 10 a.m. to noon, a bike safety course at 3 p.m. and a group bike ride at 4 p.m.
